When Gon returns home to share his success with his Aunt Mito, he finds a message from his father: "Come and find me." The only clues lie in a rare and mysterious video game, Greed Island. Gon must raise money to bid on the game, but the evil Phantom Troupe also have plans for the auction.

On the day of the auction, all of the goods have gone missing, whisked out of the Spiders' grasp by the mafia. All this distraction and some help from Hisoka gets Kurapika closer to vengeance against the Spiders, but will Kurapika's hidden powers be enough in a fight to the death?
