Elizabeth returns from her honeymoon with Jack to find that the town is running out of money. She and Abigail, along with the rest of Hope Valley, work together to try to find the perfect investor for the failing town bank. During this, Elizabeth also teaches her students some very important lessons.

Life is never dull in Hope Valley! Elizabeth finds herself courted by two potential suitors while also raising her young son. Rosemary helps Clara and Jesse plan their wedding and town rallies together to face a variety of challenges, including a windstorm and an outbreak of chickenpox.

Life is always busy and full of challenges in Hope Valley. Abigail must deal with the railroad potentially coming to Hope Valley and the benefits and costs that would come with it. Elizabeth and Jack have volunteered to coach the kids in baseball, and Elizabeth works hard to inspire a young boy who is sure he cannot participate due to a leg injury. With her encouragement, the boy is able to find the courage to take part in the game.

The residents of Hope Valley are ready to overcome any obstacles that come their way. When school supplies run low, Elizabeth works with her students to create a carnival to raise funds. However, there are more challenges in store for Elizabeth when she is betrayed and her beloved job as a teacher is in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Jack, Frank and Bill must face off against escaped criminals. There are certainly no dull moments in Hope Valley.

Elizabeth is determined to clear her name and get her job back. With the help of Abigail and the support of the children, the odds are looking good for Elizabeth to return as the schoolteacher.
